July 2nd, 2007 Surprise Tea Party

Suprise Tea Party!!!I had a little surprise tea party with some of my friends Linda and Fran from the Australian Blythe Message Boards in my yard yesterday. We had an amazing feast of snickerdoodles and bruschetta and rose tea and lamingtons, and I got to bust out my new amazing 3 tiered stand!

Fran brought a Velvet Minuet from Linda, and I named it Helen! I have a Fancy Pansy named Francesca, who I named after Fran! So sweet and narcissistic!

The neighbours were out the front having their Christmas in July “street party” while we were out the front taking some of these snaps, and we provided them with some entertainment.

Also, Linda is going to be on the ABC tv show “collectors”, showing off her Blythe collection and doing some customising! She’s a bit shy, but the rest of us know she will be an awesome spokesperson!

In other news, my little tea for two blythe, seen below wearing a giant red hair bow is currently having “Imogen Love Week” as I felt she was a much neglected doll. This goes to explain why I’ve been taking her everywhere on my regional tours, and taking photos every day!

Ok! On to the dolly photos!

January 2nd, 2007 Another batty dolly post!

My two pupsSo, I got a new doll for Christmas. Thanks to the parcel guy’s inability to get out of his van, she spent christmas at the post office, and I couldn’t make it there until the Tuesday after, so my other dolls decided to pretend that Christmas had never happened, and threw her a tea party.
My doll family is kind of multiplying out of control rather like a western Sydney family, aside from the fact that I am only out of control with plastic things, rather than babies who will grow up into people, thank christ.
Anyways, my new girl is named Imogen, she is a t42 ebl and I love her solemn face to bits! Now, on to the Tea Party, click to make big.

August 2nd, 2006 *squeee*

It’s been SO LONG since I have left Sydney, properly, and I’ve found out that this year, after 10 years of zine production, I’m going to the Newcastle writers festival! More details to come, but I am very excited about:
* Newcastle friends!!!
* Noodle Paradise!!!!
* Long train ride!!!
In other news, I have a new doll!, My friend Leigh is exhibiting his art in Rozelle, and as always, all of these things are documented more fully on my flickr, as opposed to being written about here. Hmph. Don’t you love it when bloggers blog about not blogging?

June 13th, 2006 Introducing….

Isobel Pepper and DoraIsobel Pepper! Named as such, after Belle and Sebastian(sooo cliche), and Pepper, the tiny felt baby that Nick had with my toy, Toast. I don’t think that I mentioned it here, but Winsome, my sweet custom Vsmash, has gone to live in Melbourne, with the very dear Ginny. Isobel Pepper is filling the void left by Winsome’s departure very well. As is the fact that Winsome is ridiculously happy in Victoria!
Isobel and Dora are making friends awfully well. Isobel understand’s Dora’s chronic problems(many), and is the sweetest, most loving girl ever. Dora doesn’t mind when Isobel steals her carefully formed forkfulls when they share dinner, either.

I totally forgot to blog about my newcastle day trip, properly. And now, once more, I will avoid blogging properly, and instead use point form:
Toast enjoys ALL the ladies.
Fenella and Jamie’s FP try their hardest to look Holy in front of the cathederal.
Dora finds it ever so tiresome that tourists keep popping up in her photos. For those who do not keep up to date with the lives of my dolls, Dora is an invalid and is plagued with 210 diseases, including but not limited to club foot, dyptheria and tuberculosis.
Fenella is quite sure that she does not like this ocean thing.
To the left is my dear Daisy May and Jamie’s Catie. They became penpals a few months ago and have remained the best of friends. They are difficult, unrestful souls and are fond of a protest rally. About anything. Daisy May refuses to wear shoes, or dresses(except for birthday celebrations) and is trying to teach Catie methods of resisting shoe wearing.
And finally, all the Blythe dolls at the picnic.

My dearest rebellious Blythe girl, Daisy May demanded a hair cut a few weeks back, and I tried to give her a Silver Snow style fringe, and failed desperately. So, I finally got the courage to fix her up, and ended up giving her a cutie little bob. I’m so smitten with her hair, as is she, and she has taken to bullying the other girls once more, with her revolutionary ideas, which is good, because Fenella had turned into the ultimate Bully Girl when Daisy May was having a bad hair sulk.

November 29th, 2005 Blythe in the city.

This was.. ermm well over a week ago now, but I’m only just now updating. Which is why my flickr account gets more love than my blog. Oops.
One fine warm late spring day, I went out with the lovely Miss’s Berry, and my Blythes, on a cupcake and gothic lolita/chinatown shopping mission…

Our first stop was Cupcakes on Pitt, a cafe dedicated soley to cupcakes. It was much anticipated, but we were ready for a letdown, it being sydney and all. Dora at cupcakes on Pitt. The cafe is tiny, but the cakes are tops! The icing is super smooth and the cakes are lovely and moist and soft. Mmmmm cupcakes on pitt. I fell off my chair because I was wearing too many skirts and was too short. And a big orange canvas fell on us and Vanessa saved us from death. Although if we were hit by the canvas, I’m sure we would have gotten free cupcakes. Darn!
Other than homocidal artwork, I was super impressed with the cupcakes(I had honeycomb and chocolate), but it’s more of a shop geared towards take away, as the premesis is teeny and had seating for maybe 5 people.

November 9th, 2005 Rename!

Due to unfortunate personal problems, I’ve renamed “Mippy” Winsome. I have named her after a darling older lady who I met at a craft day, who had been friends with my grandmother(who died several years ago) and has since made friends with my Mother, at her craft classes, and I had heard so much about her that I loved her right away(even though my dear Aunty Bette showed up when I was talking to Winsome and I ran to give her a hug because I hadn’t seen her in so long!).
I lost Winsome for a few hours, though I kept a keen eye out for her in the hall, and after I had ducked out to the mall to get some fresh mango yogurt(mmm), Mum pointed her out again. On the way to see her, I discovered some Barbie pyjamas that a lady was selling, and brought some, and then took Fenella to visit Winsome. She is such a darling, and was so taken with Fenella, and loved hearing my slightly eccentric stories about my other dolls and how Daisy May is having a difficult puberty and has become a hippy. She was so darling and understanding that I pledged to name a doll after her. Now, when some unfortunate events occured over the weekend, I decided to rename my dear Smashie, and what nicer name than Winsome? It is so much more sophisticated and I feel it suits her.
