This was.. ermm well over a week ago now, but I’m only just now updating. Which is why my flickr account gets more love than my blog. Oops.
One fine warm late spring day, I went out with the lovely Miss’s Berry, and my Blythes, on a cupcake and gothic lolita/chinatown shopping mission…

Our first stop was Cupcakes on Pitt, a cafe dedicated soley to cupcakes. It was much anticipated, but we were ready for a letdown, it being sydney and all. Dora at cupcakes on Pitt. The cafe is tiny, but the cakes are tops! The icing is super smooth and the cakes are lovely and moist and soft. Mmmmm cupcakes on pitt. I fell off my chair because I was wearing too many skirts and was too short. And a big orange canvas fell on us and Vanessa saved us from death. Although if we were hit by the canvas, I’m sure we would have gotten free cupcakes. Darn!
Other than homocidal artwork, I was super impressed with the cupcakes(I had honeycomb and chocolate), but it’s more of a shop geared towards take away, as the premesis is teeny and had seating for maybe 5 people.

Blair sent me this parcel of “holiday decorations” in exchange for some blythe hats, which was really lovely, as my first halloween kind of sucked, but my second one was so much better. I loooove everything in it! I’ve tucked into the peeps, which I thought I didn’t like(I feel like I’m betraying my countrymen, especially The Other Andrew), but I loove them, and I’m getting through the donut and am conserving the buttons and the peanut butter cup. Mmmmm…
Edit: I should also note that Blair labelled the parcel “holiday decorations” and it was inspected by customs, which is why I included a photo of the ripped package. And the candy corn was a gift from Alexia from glitter, but I picked it up on the same day as this parcel, so the americandy is one with my mind.

Is it puberty? Has he been spending too much time with Daisy May? Maybe he just hates my aesthetic..

Staring Winsome as Kozy Kape, Buttercake Afternoon and Piyo Piyo as themselves.

Meet Benben. Benben was a gift from Clinton’s brother on account of the fact that our breakup was hellish(but we shant go into that here) and I have wanted a bird for a long time. Benben is like sunshine on a rainy day, the light in my heart and he really likes lettuce.
He takes tiny triangular bites out of all his food and I am going to train him to sit on my finger and fly around the room. He is very inquisitive and interested in the world and sings the most beautiful songs already(he spent a couple of days with said brother’s girlfriend’s birds, who I think taught him many good things)! He will eat lettuce out of my hand, and I think he will be unafraid of hands within a week, he is that bright(and his love for lettuce is that great).
*sigh* benben.

Due to unfortunate personal problems, I’ve renamed “Mippy” Winsome. I have named her after a darling older lady who I met at a craft day, who had been friends with my grandmother(who died several years ago) and has since made friends with my Mother, at her craft classes, and I had heard so much about her that I loved her right away(even though my dear Aunty Bette showed up when I was talking to Winsome and I ran to give her a hug because I hadn’t seen her in so long!).
I lost Winsome for a few hours, though I kept a keen eye out for her in the hall, and after I had ducked out to the mall to get some fresh mango yogurt(mmm), Mum pointed her out again. On the way to see her, I discovered some Barbie pyjamas that a lady was selling, and brought some, and then took Fenella to visit Winsome. She is such a darling, and was so taken with Fenella, and loved hearing my slightly eccentric stories about my other dolls and how Daisy May is having a difficult puberty and has become a hippy. She was so darling and understanding that I pledged to name a doll after her. Now, when some unfortunate events occured over the weekend, I decided to rename my dear Smashie, and what nicer name than Winsome? It is so much more sophisticated and I feel it suits her.

This is my newest girl, Dora Trotwood, aka My Little Blossom. She is very fragile and has club foot and has to spend a lot of time lying down, poor dear.
She came with such great accessories, though I’m not too keen on her outfits(pyjamas) perhaps because it is rather warm here at the moment…

I was inspired by the Anti-Craft’s knitted wire article, and whipped this up last night. It was really quite fun, as I’ve never knitted with wire before, and found some lying around.
Am going to try to pop off to Lincrap tomorrow to see if they have different colours!
I worked this on a pair of handmade needles which I had lazily varnished the tips of with nail polish, which didn’t stand up to being viciously rubbed with wire! I know nail polish is meant to be a temporary varnish. Bad Helen!

Very, very interesting and good.
