My dear friend, Vanessa recently launched her book, Strawberry Hills Forever. It’s a collection of stories mostly taken from her zines, I am a camera and Laughter and the Sound of Teacups, and also some new writings.
Her launch was held at the Camperdown Bowling Club, and nearly everyone good, ever, was there. It was quite amazing. I had a reunion with the ever amazing Sam Twyford Moore, and there were so many friends, everywhere I looked. All afternoon, there was a line of people getting Vanessa to sign their copy of her book, and cakes everywhere!
Vanessa’s sister, and my favourite platonic girldate, Fiona made the most amazing typewriter cake(pictured), which was certainly quite incredible and a highlight for many people.
